Luigi's Ristorante (Italian) On arrival, we were presented with a very lively and busy restuarant. Having been impressed with the menu displayed outside we entered the small(ish) interior and were seated immediately. We opted for a starter and a main course each from the menu which were brought in due course. The place didn't have the feel of a restaurant, more of a cafe and the food reflected this. Whilst the service was adequate, I felt the food a little overpriced and it didn't feel that much effort was made on the part of the chef or the waitress. We ordered a steak and a lasagne for the main course although there was a selection of Pizza's which looked very tempting and were the cheaper option. Overall, I felt the place lacked any sense of occasion and would not merit making the effort to go again. £35-£40 5
Sichuan Garden (Chinese) A very well presented retaurant which gives it a nicely tranquil and cosy atmosphere. The service was good and the food was excellent. As Chinese restaurants go this one is highly recommended although it maybe isn't the cheapest around. £35-£40 7

The Fox (Pub) A nicely situated pub with a very warm and cosy atmosphere. The menu is varied although it hasn't changed much for as long as I can remember. The food is brought to your table and on the only occassion I had cause to complain, it was dealt with quickly, politely and more than enough was done to fix the problem. £16
(Soft drinks, 1 course)

The Harvester (Pub) Part of the famous chain of Pub/Restaurants, you probably know what to expect. The food is basic but the portions are a good size and the service is friendly enough. I personally only go between 5pm-6.30pm to take advantage of the 1/3 off deal. Without this, I feel the place is slightly overpriced for what you get. £18 (after 1/3 off)
(Soft drinks, 2 courses)

Dong's (Chinese) Unfortunately, I have to say that this restuarant is not worth the effort to visit. I have had some good experiences here - the food is good and at a reasonable price. The trouble is this place has gone down hill. On my last visit (and it will be my last) I was confronted with dirty cutlery, dirty tablecloths, a screaming baby (the waiters I must add) and all in all it wasn't a pleasant experience. We even took the main course home as we didn't want to stay. Steer clear. £35

Thai Thongma (Thai) This restaurant has the look and the feel of a highly polished establishment giving it the sense of occasion that is so often lacking. Having been greeted at the door by a polite and helpful waitress we were handed a menu with an excellent selection of food. Having opted for a starter and a three dish main, we were suitably impressed with the offerings. I cannot find any fault with this restaurant although the price is slightly higher than one may expect. £40 8

Conchitas (Mexican) We visited this restaurant on a friday night and were confronted with what can only be described as a lively atmosphere. The music was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. The place was more akin to being a bar than a restaurant with people dancing and generally enjoying themselves. The service was adequate, the food reasonable and suitably priced. Not the place to go for a romantic meal but maybe a good choice for a party. £35 (3 people, 1 course, 3 drinks) 6
La Galicia (Tapas) Once again this restaurant was extremely lively and we were lucky to get a table. We ordered a selection of tapas from a wide variety on the menu and were pleased with what we got. The service was as good as you would expect for a full house and the food was priced well. £35 7
Le Jardin de Provence (French) A very attractive restaurant that had all the trappings of a classy place to eat. The service was very good and the food was excellent. There was ample selection on the menu and the whole experience made you feel special. £40 9
Mae Ping (Thai) Another attractive restaurant which had a lovely cosy and warm atmosphere. The waitress was very attentive and the menu ample. We selected a set meal which provided an excellent selection of food and was more than enough for the two of us. £37.50 8
The Mongolian Barbeque (?) What can I say. This is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The service was abysmal and the food defied belief. The idea is that you go and pick the food that you want from a selection laid on and then have it fried in front of you. The only problem is that, with everyone else doing the same you are likely to queue for quite a while. Basically all the meal consisted of was some stir fried vegetables and a bit of meat. I was thoroughly dissapointed with the whole experience and cannot think of any reason why someone would want to go here. £25 (1 Course) 1
Mamma Angela (Italian) Inadvertantly arriving at this cosy little spot, I was pleasantly surprised. We were extremely lucky to get a table but the service was warm, attentive and friendly. The food on offer was varied and, although nothing out of the ordinary, was very nice and the portions were very good. A nice place. £38 7
