A Moving Experience

Last year I experienced the most beautiful sight that I've ever experienced and I'd like to tell you about it here.

I was in Australia, admiring the Great Barrier Reef and all the wonderful marine life that comes with it, when I came across the Whitsundays.

The Whitsundays, situated in tropical north Queensland, is located centrally on the magnificent Great Barrier Reef. The region is made up of 74 tropical islands and the only way to reach them was by boat from the North East Coast of Australia. The tropical climate here is perfect and has an estimated 8.25 hours of sunshine daily to complement the average annual temperature of 27°C max. and 21°C min. To take advantage of this a number of companies provide the opportunity to take a 3 day tour on some of the most traditional Tall Ships.

Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world, in the CORAL SEA, off the coast of Queensland, NE Australia. It is c.1,250 mi (2,000 km) long and is separated from the mainland by a shallow lagoon up to 100 mi (161 km) wide. The reef is composed of hundreds of individual reefs and has many islets, coral gardens, and unusual marine life. In some places it is more than 400 ft (122 m) thick.
