Instructions

1. Navigate to http://grc.com/dos/drdos.htm
2. Read the article
3. Produce no more than 1 page in total describing:
   • How two computers connect (syn, syn/ack, ack) - one paragraph
   • A 'traditional syn attack' - one paragraph
   • A 'DoS' attack - a couple of lines should do that
   • A 'DDoS' attack - one paragraph

You don't need to go into any great lengths, or describe how the attacks are detected or prevented - just demonstrate that you have a basic understanding of these four concepts.

For those who wish to read on, you can learn about a very sophisticated new attack method called the "Disrtibuted Reflection Denial of Service Attack" However, this assignment doesn't require you to do that.
